Tips  & FAQ’s

We encourage our clients to be creative, to bring any props they want and to change outfits. We like to consult with our clients weeks before the photo session to ascertain what "mood" or "theme" they are wanting their portraits to reflect. Once we figure out that, we can decide on clothing, prop, and location choices.

Here are some tips that help you prepare for a Photo Session

-What should I wear or bring?
Bring anything you feel comfortable in and LOVE. Pants - jeans (any color), black pants, yoga pants work well.
Shirts - big, white, button-down rumpled man's shirt. Any shirt or cardigan that opens down the front works well.
Tanks - anything fitted or stretchy in solid colors (white, black, red, blue...). Avoid patterns, stripes and plaids unless they truly are a big part of your identity. Don't wear anything binding to the shoot - you don't want marks on your skin.

I prefer solid colors: white, black, brown, gray. Sleeves - Long-sleeved tend to be the most flattering, but sleeveless and spaghetti straps work well. Women should avoid t-shirt length sleeves unless you have beautiful, sculpted or very thin upper arms.

- How should I prepare for my shoot?
Get a manicure and a pedicure a day or two in advance. Plan makeup. If you don't opt to have the onsite makeup artist, you'll get the best photos if you do your own makeup or visit a makeup center prior to your shoot. Call us at 305.776.7102 to talk about these option.

- What should my husband wear?
Men should bring jeans or khaki pants or any other dark bottoms. I encourage rumpled (not starched), plain white shirts. Throw a regular, WHITE crew-neck t-shirt in the bag, too. Bring solid, dark colors like black, dark brown, navy blue and charcoal gray tops and bottoms. Layers are great; wear the t-shirt under a crew- or v-neck sweater or jacket.

- What should I bring to my photo shoot?
Bring large or small props that have meaning, for example a guitar if you play the guitar. For babies & toddlers bring his/her favorite stuffed animals, building blocks, flowers, balls . Unusual items: saris, native fabrics, wedding veils Accessories : hats, scarves, glasses
